Sally is Creative Lead across the award-winning We Are the Possible programme. As a writer, editor, researcher and lecturer her interest in connecting planetary health and the arts grew from working with Met Office climate scientists and medical professionals who wanted to communicate climate data to the public through storytelling. For We Are the Possible she designs and facilitates workshops that bring together scientists, educators, medical professionals, youth leaders, artists, and translators from all around the world to co-create new climate narratives. From this rich and interdisciplinary forum, one that connects research, writing, facts with feelings, powerful stories and poems are woven in a unique editing process. These narratives become the bedrock of books, e-books, theatre performances, visual art, and music that demonstrate at COP to policy makers and the public beyond how arts and science together can show the need for social and cultural change, planetary health, climate justice, and most importantly motivate positive climate action. She is also creative lead on the international ‘Schools Across the Ocean’ programme to green curriculums uniting education, science, and the arts across countries, cultures and classrooms.
