A showcase of stunning artwork, bringing together the outputs from all of the Exeter projects.
This photographic exhibition is being held at the Devon & Exeter Institution over two months during February and March, and is part of ‘12 Stories for 12 Days of COP27’, a project led by Dr Eliana Maestri and supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. It showcases a selection of images of artworks inspired by We Still Have a Chance – powerful human stories around climate change – and produced in Exeter in support of COP27, which took place in Egypt in November 2022.
The artworks were created by Exeter schools with Daisi artists, graffiti artist Steve McCracken and artists at Double Elephant. Displayed around the city of Exeter, including MakeTank, Exeter Phoenix and Exeter Library, the artworks empower the messages behind We Still Have a Chance by translating them into prints, installations and graffiti on wood. They also express the desire to forge relationships that transcend sectors and participate in big conversations about the health of our planet.
This project is also located within a wider international collaboration – led by the University of Exeter with the Met Office, the British Council, the American University in Cairo and Banlastic, Egypt – which aims to engage local and global communities and deliver messages of hope for a better and greener future.
