Impacts of Global Tipping Points on Health

The connection between the impacts of climate change and Global Health Risks has never been more evident. Polar warming is accelerating at an alarming rate, creating increasingly extreme knock-on effects all over the world. These effects: drought, flooding, extreme temperature change, biodiversity loss, and much more – directly impact our health.

At the SDG Tent, Dr Cathy Sorbara, Deputy Director of Arctic Basecamp, and expert on climate and health, will lead a high-level panel discussion on the present and future climate impacts on health. We will explore with our industry-leading panellists the multiple challenges and opportunities Global Health faces. Offering numerous perspectives from business and public standpoints, considering how leadership might be mobilised for a global response, but especially for Climate vulnerable regions. Arctic Basecamp will also announce a new tool they will develop in 2024 looking at the effects of polar tipping points on health in association with the Welcome Trust.

Location: The SDG tent (next to Hotel Derby), 139 Promenade 7260 Davos Switzerland

Starts at: 10am CET
