Professor Stephen Sitch from the Global Carbon Budget Office and Dr Luiz Aragao from the National Institute for Space Research, Brazil present the report of the Systematic Observations community and the Global Carbon Budget, both submitted to the Global Stocktake (GST).
With stakeholders they will show use cases on Greenhouse Gas emissions, the carbon cycle, AFOLU data, adaption and means of implementation, focusing on the Global South and discuss future updates.
Professor Sitch is giving an overview of the Global Carbon Budget, emphasising land-use as important and uncertain. He will also include information on a regional carbon cycle assessment project called Africa RECCAP. Dr Aragao will focus on deforestation, degradation and satellite monitoring in South America.
