Hear from one of the world’s foremost marine conservationists, Professor Callum Roberts, who has been leading efforts to conserve the biodiversity of our oceans.
The oceans are home to a rich diversity of habitats and species and reduce the overheating of our planet by storing vast amounts of carbon dioxide. However, they face growing threats from fishing, deep seabed mining, climate change, acidification, plastic and other pollutants. Research undertaken by Professor Roberts and colleagues from Exeter is central to efforts to preserve 30% of our oceans by 2030.
How can we achieve this ’30 x 30’ target? Professor Roberts addresses this urgent question alongside a panel of special guests, followed by questions from the audience.
